Wood floors are very easy to clean as long as you are proactive in their upkeep and maintenance. Here are some easy to follow tips that will help to keep your wood floors in shape for many years.
You should sweep the floor on a daily basis. Always make sure that you get up as much dirt and dust as possible. Wood floors are great because it is much easier to see the dirt on them than it is with carpeting.
You can follow the sweeping by using a damp mop on your wood floors. This will remove any of the dirt and grime the sweeping might have missed. It is important to remove the dirt and particles from your floor because they can cause scratches. You will only need to mop once a week or so.
Always choose a cleaner for your mopping solution made specifically for wood floors. Many people simply use a regular floor cleaner or even dish-soap, but if you want the hardwood floors to stay looking great it makes sense to use the special cleaners.
After you have finished mopping the wood floors, you may want to apply a coat of wax to keep them in great shape. You do not need it, but it is a nice touch and it can keep your floors from looking dull. It is a good idea to use it on occasion.
As you can see, the maintenance of wood floors is quite simple!
