In today’s world, you would think that everything you ever wanted to watch would be available on DVD or as an online movie rental. After all, we are now moving into the age of Blu-Ray, so haven’t all of the great VHS movies already made the leap?
Surprisingly, no. Here are three VHS movies that have yet to make it onto DVD.
Lovers of classic movies and fans of Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart certainly remember the classic film 'The African Queen.' The movie is absolutely legendary, and is one of the best movies of all time. Yet surprisingly, there has yet to be an American DVD release for this cinematic masterpiece.
Disney’s 'Song of the South' is also not available on DVD. Disney has promised to release the film for years now, complete with information on why today’s viewing audience should not think that the depiction of Uncle Remus is in any way racist. Most of today’s kids know all of the words to Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah, yet almost none have ever seen this fantastic musical tale about the mischief one Brer Rabbit can get himself into.
Another movie not available on DVD is the Beatles 'Let it Be' documentary. This is one of the best movies about the Beatles ever made, and it shows how the members were interacting near the end of their time together. It also shows the rooftop concert where they last played together.
These movies are among the best ever made, yet none of them are available on DVD, so hang on to that VHS player for now and watch this space.
