If you are stuck in a dead end job that doesn't hold any room for advancement, or if you've decided that the career path you are headed down really isn’t for you, then you might be considering adult education.
Going to school for something new can be great for you for a variety of reasons. Before you decide that you are going to go back to school though, you need to weigh the decisions carefully.
First, you need to make sure that the new career path you want to follow is really something that you want to pursue long-term.
Second, you need to make sure that it is going to be financially beneficial to you to make that move. Happiness counts for a lot, so it doesn't mean that you have to make more at your new career than you did at your old one. It just means that you need to be able to make a livable wage.
When you are pondering a continuing education, look at the job opportunities that are available for your new career choice, and make sure that there is room for growth in the field. You don't want to go to school and get a degree only to find that the job market dried up completely.
As long as you take the time to consider all of the possibilities, both good and bad, when thinking about continuing education, you should be able to make the right decision. Don't let your excitement for change be the factor that makes all of your decisions though!
